Pastel Painting - Plein Air Study to Studio

Location: Palette + Chisel Academy of Fine Arts, Chicago
Workshop Dates: -
Contact Person: Palette + Chisel Academy of Fine Arts

Open to All Levels

In this workshop, we will practice traditional methods of pastel painting through direct observation out of doors.  Through four days of painting including exercises in composition, massing abstract shapes, value relationships, color and controlling edges, students will be spending their time learning at the easel where Nature provides the greatest lessons.  The day begins with a short demo, then out to the field for painting practice, personal attention and guidance.  We will then use these studies to work on larger pieces in the studio each afternoon.  Our goal is to work at the process of learning how to see, respond and interpret that vision into your own personal expression in pastel.  www.paletteandchisel.org
